NONPF 39th Annual Meeting

SA-VI
Infuse It!
Saturday, April 13, 2013: 10:30 AM-11:45 AM
Kings Garden North (Wyndham Grand)
Organizer:
Denise Lucas, PhD, CRNP
Abstract:
This symposium presents a unique method of bridging and infusing critical core concepts of research, social justice, genetics, and mental health. Faculty may have had a difficult time in the past deciding where and how to present the competencies. The topics addressed by this symposium are not intended to be presented in a dedicated course; rather they are intended to be infused through out the nurse practitioner curriculum in a creative, flexible, and cost effective delivery system. The presenters will discuss a variety of strategies and settings in which to bridge and infuse the competencies. The strategies are novel and adaptable as well as essential when teaching advanced practice nursing. This symposium will familiarize participants with ways to infuse these critical concepts into any course, whether considering low or high tech methods.
