Abstract:
The components of the consultation process will be discussed including setting up a consulting relationship, carrying through with the relationship, and ending the relationship. Evaluation of the relationship would include a process by which those who were involved benefited from the experience and what could have been done differently to improve the consultation process.    Challenges and pitfalls included understanding the system in which the program or school operated as well as the ongoing cultural differences.  Reimbursement for consultation is a challenging aspect and several models will be discussed including the value of a person’s time during preparation for the experience and time spent after the experience is completed.
