Abstract:
A university offers a unique blend of distance programming combined with on campus immersion sessions for our advanced practice nursing students.  This workshop will focus on the DNP student and the interprofessoinal education (IPE) model we have created with a university's School of Pharmacy.  This session is designed to discuss the gaps in the literature specifically pertaining to IPE with advanced practice nursing programs and other disciplines.  Our program is online combined with on campus immersive learning sessions.  We are working with the School of Pharmacy to incorporate an IPE model with Nursing and Pharmacy.  Utilizing our state of the art immersive learning and simulation center, we will create scenarios across the lifespan incorporating both disciplines.

By working together, the nursing and pharmacy departments have created (symbiotic??) teaching and learning experiences for our students.  Students will begin collaborating together in on campus immersion sessions and ultimately take course work together as it pertains to health communication and advanced pharmacology across the two disciplines.
