Abstract:
In keeping with the recommendations of the consensus model, many nurse practitioner faculty currently certified as Adult or Gerontology Nurse Practitioners will want additional education and clinical experiences to obtain certification to reflect both primary care populations.  Faculty workload results in a full schedule, particularly at the beginning and end of each semester.   Creation of a post master’s certificate specifically for nurse practitioner faculty is designed to provide the educational opportunities necessary without adding undue stress to the faculty member.   This post master’s certificate program allows for flexibility in scheduling of didactic material and clinical hours to promote successful completion of the academic requirements.
