TYPES OF PRESENTATIONS
Podium or Poster Submission:
A 20-minute podium (oral) presentation scheduled during a concurrent session or a poster presentation.
Symposium Submission:
A symposium includes 1 overview abstract with 3-5 additional abstracts all on a related subject and scheduled as an entire concurrent session (75-minutes). A minimum of three presentations is required. The program will include a limited number of symposia.
Workshop Submission:
A "how to" presentation that is scheduled as an entire concurrent session (75-minutes). A minimum of three presenters is required. The program will include a limited number of workshops.
Armchair Discussion Submission:
An interactive concurrent session (75-minutes) in which a panel with particular experience on a topic, including an identified moderator, will give brief comments and then lead an audience discussion on the topic. A minimum of three panelists is required. The abstract should name the topic, identify key questions to address in the discussion, and describe the collective panel expertise.
Abstract Submission Instructions:
Step 1 - Title: Provide the title of the abstract; provide information about the primary author and the presentation; identify the intended audience; specify AV requirements; and provide agreements for participation and recordings.
Step 2 - Keywords: Identify up to 5 key words applicable to the submission.
Step 3 - General Information: Provide a purpose statement for the presentation; identify the gap area to be addressed (knowledge, skill, practice, or other) and provide a description of the desired/achievable outcome; and provide a list of citations and references used.
Step 4 - Abstract: Upload a Word document or type in the abstract (350-word limit).
Step 5 - Content Outline: Complete the table with the objective(s), content outline, speakers, time for the content, and the method of presentation.
Step 6 - People: Provide information on each abstract author and indicate if s/he will be a presenter.
Step 7 - Disclosure: Each author must disclose any conflicts of interest or indicate that no conflicts exist.
Step 8 - Confirmation: Review of abstract submission.
Abstract Topics:
New educational approaches, strategies, and evaluation tools must have been used for at least 3 semesters prior to presentation.
NONPF will consider abstract submissions on any topic related to NP education. Abstracts from, practice and research, with a link to NP education, are also welcome.
Review criteria for Abstracts:
All podium, poster, workshop, symposium, and armchair discussion
submissions will undergo blind, peer review. Acceptance will be based on scoring in areas of relevance of content, quality of the abstract, originality and innovation of content to be presented, and feasibility for replication or implementation by other NP/APRN faculty.
