Abstract:
Experts in the field will address ways in which using online e-learning cases (such as the suite of MedU cases) have met the needs and enhanced the nurse practitioner curriculum. For those using cases (and those interested in using cases), the presenters will demonstrate exemplars in which they have incorporated the cases into their curriculum and discuss their experiences with implementation. They will also be giving a brief introduction to the MedU case features, helping the faculty to better understand the student experience. Discussions will allow participants to share needs and experiences in using e-learning materials. One of the challenges that face the education of nurse practitioner (NP) students is the amount of time NP students have with expert mentors while in school is limited and web based modules may be helpful for this population to accelerate the process of clinical decision making and providing the best medical care for their patients. The purpose of this workshop is to provide participants with innovative learning strategies that can be applied across all NP programs.
