Summary:

Offered by the International Special Interest Group, this session will provide faculty with detailed information about how to develop and carry out international experiences for students and faculty. Nursing faculty leaders who have experience with planning and leading international experiences for students will discuss (1) issues that must be addressed prior to embarking on the trip, (2) philosophical, legal, ethical, and safety concerns, (3) what needs to occur after returning, (4) personal safety issues within the country, and (5) potential faculty options for international experiences.
